Business Development

Lights Out is building an in-house business development & collaborations team and we’re starting off with a Business Development Manager. Someone with an innate affinity towards building and nurturing new relationships. If you’re someone who likes to fluff your way through, skip this one. But if new deal closures or relationship conversions give you a dopamine hit, we’re all ears.

About the Job

We work with high-growth consumer-tech businesses, globally. That means each of these businesses have a lineage of existence, data to bank on and some lofty visions that the founding teams or investors come with. We don’t really struggle for new leads, but would like to build a robust process and team to reach out to some aspirational businesses: the best in each sector, for us to widen our portfolio.

Not just that, we’re also looking at the BD Manager to play the role of a collaborator: someone who can work with external teams and bring the best out of them for some of our on-going projects.

You’ll be working with Lights Out’s core team along with some of our very talented friends around the globe. We do not shy away from collaborating or learning from the best in the Industry.

As a BD Manager / Collaboration Strategist, you would be working on :

◉ Front-ending relationships with existing clients as well as bring new ones on board;

◉ Set meetings for the firm with aspirational businesses, online & offline

◉ Strategist networking events / private gatherings / learning sessions with our existing clients & collaborators

◉ Work on any backend support that the founding team may need, on new relationship building

◉ Handle email outreaches across different categories

◉ Work with teams internally & externally to coordinate for any ongoing projects, new deals or initiatives

Benefits & Compensation

Lights Out has a more entrepreneurial mindset that we like to fuel into our team. The base salary for this position, depending on your experience would be anywhere between INR 6 to INR 8L per annum. Incentives would be 3% to 5% revenue of every project you bag, uncapped.

We work 5-day work weeks, prefer you don’t schedule too many calls in one day, help you with medical insurance and don’t really have the concept of designated number of leaves. If you want a break, you take a break. Just manage your work, let your coworkers know and there’s no record of such leaves.

In addition, we offer incentives in two parts:

a.) For every new account you win or extend, for the quality of work you’ve done, you get a direct % of the revenue.

b.) We also have the policy of team incentives. The whole team takes a percentage of the yearly profits home, after a 1 year cliff in the company.
